1:1 School Nurse Job Description:
- 1:1 Registered Nurse (RN): School-Based.
- Contract through the 25/26 school year – 37.5 to 40 hours per week.
- Contract follows the academic district calendar.
Salary:
- RN: $1,800–$1,920/week.

1:1 Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements:
- Current RN license in New Mexico (or compact license).
- Experience working with children with medical complexity and developmental disabilities.
- Familiarity with seizure protocols, mobility support, and respiratory management.
- Strong communication skills and a calm, patient approach.
- School nursing experience preferred but not required.
- Current First Aid or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR/BLS) certification.
- Must have the ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time; see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; and the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; May include frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and occasional lifting of equipment and/or materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds may be required.
1:1 Registered Nurse (RN) Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one nursing support to a student with significant medical and developmental needs.
- Support a non-verbal student with mobility assistance, including wheelchair use.
- Monitor and respond to seizures and implement care plans.
- Manage inhaler use, aspiration risk after meals, and toileting needs.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and other staff as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Use sound clinical judgment to ensure student safety and well-being.
